Amie St. Music Wednesday

This week is the week that ASMW turns 1 year old. There is a small following right now, and that is okay. I don’t know if I could listen to 100 songs in a day. Over a week I could, and that would be great.

I have talked with Amie Street and asked them to give us the use of a promo code for a week. They were more than happy to comply with the request. I’m here to pass this on to you and your friends. So if you didn’t catch my last post then you will want to click on this link to get your $5.00 worth of free music. No, you do not have to spend it all today. Save it and find something you really like.

For this weeks Amie St. Music Wednesday we have an anniversary song for you. This song is done by none other than, Dorian Mingus. Dorian plays a good mix of sounds throughout his albums. The song Anniversary Song is posted today to mark the anniversary of Amie Street Music Wednesday.

I hope that you enjoy todays selection. Please support your local artist, and enjoy music responsibly. Do not drive with headphone on, and keep the volume to a low roar, no need to kill the ears.

Amie St. Music Wednesday

I have reached the big number 40 in Amie St. Music Wednesday post. That is a ton of weeks gone buy. I should have been closer to 50 right now, but I’m not. It is sad but true. I have missed some weeks of Amie St. Music Wednesday, but for the most part I have been steady at it for almost a year now.

This weeks Amie St. Music Wednesday is a punk/indie rock band. I was just listening to them and just enjoyed the sound. There really is not much else to it other than that.

The Ettes have a nice sound. just sit back and have a listen. You know it will not hurt you if you do. Crown of Age is the song for this week. Has a good guitar sound. Really the album itself is worth the change to pick it up.

Amie St. Music Wednesday

ASMW on Thursday. I know I didn’t get this out on time. Damnit, I am getting it out today. People just need music, and I’m hear to help give them a weekly dose of something new. It doesn’t matter to me if it is Wednesday or not. So take your music like good little boys and girls or no bed time stories for you.

I was browsing though the acoustic selections today. I wasn’t really looking for anything. Acoustic music can be more relaxing to me. You really get to hear the instruments in a raw form. It really just makes for great music.

luther red is one such band. Great acoustic sound. I enjoyed listening to the entire album. The song Bruce Lee is one of my favorites on the album. It just talks about Bruce Lee kicking ass.

The entire album is just chilled. It is great for back ground music, or just to relax to. To me it seems as though I could be sipping on whiskey sitting is a big cushy chair, kicked back, and hanging out with friends.

Sited on the Web @ lutherred.com, MySpace

There you have it. Your Amie St. Music Wednesday on Thursday. Besides your headed to the weekend, you might as well have some chilled music to cruse to going down the hill.

Amie St. Music Wednesday

I’m getting Amie Street Music Wednesday done today. The one song that this band has on Amie Street is bad ass. I don’t know how else to describe it. Well I could. Maybe.

Static Circle has a great sound. I think that they might sound a little like Sether, but I have not heard Sether in a long time. Maybe I will break out some of their music tonight with this one and compare.

Pressure is a great song. I needed something like this today. Stressed about everything in life almost. It really helps to have something that will help take out the aggression.

I went searching around the internet because they only had one song on Amie Street. You know a band that sound like this is bound to have more out there and they could be just testing the waters of Amie Street to see how the community reacts to their music. Well they got one out of me.

I joined their MySpace friend. I’m going to try and see if they will get the rest of it up on the site. i only buy music from Amie Street any more. So if it doesn’t make it then I will not be picking it up. I hope they will see the need to put the rest of the album up.

Childhood dreams and stories. Things that you think about when you were a child, not knowing what were really was out there. Our experiences is what makes us who we are.

Raine Maida song Yellow Brick Road makes you think about those childhood dreams. It then takes you to the trip of adulthood. It is a thought provoking song. I enjoyed finding this gem.

I have really enjoyed other song that Raine Maida sings. I love his style of playing. It is the style that makes you want to hear what he is saying.

This is what someone had to say on Amie Street:
“A different sounding Raine (kind of Everlast-y? Beck-ish?) but in this case, different = great. Reminds me of a slacker anthem meeting the Firefly theme song, for whatever reason. — argjamesi
