Childhood dreams and stories. Things that you think about when you were a child, not knowing what were really was out there. Our experiences is what makes us who we are.

Raine Maida song Yellow Brick Road makes you think about those childhood dreams. It then takes you to the trip of adulthood. It is a thought provoking song. I enjoyed finding this gem.

I have really enjoyed other song that Raine Maida sings. I love his style of playing. It is the style that makes you want to hear what he is saying.

This is what someone had to say on Amie Street:
“A different sounding Raine (kind of Everlast-y? Beck-ish?) but in this case, different = great. Reminds me of a slacker anthem meeting the Firefly theme song, for whatever reason. — argjamesi

Amie St. Music Wednesday

This week’s installment of Amie Street Music Wednesday is brought to you by Memo.

Memo is from the United Kingdom. Their music style is Indie rock and Acoustic. I have enjoyed listening to the entire album. The band reminds me of News Boys, just political.

I have had trouble pin-pointing one song that I really enjoy. Heads on Sticks is great though.

I’m really with out words to describe this band. I enjoy the music. It is moving. It just jams. That might be the best that I’m able to do. That sucks.

So you be the judge. I have enjoyed them, even if I don’t know how to describe them. Enjoy the Amie Street Music Wednesday, and remember listen to music responsibly. Don’t vibrate the car next to you.

There are times when you have the blues. There are times when others are blue. There are times when you just need to hear the blues. Blues has been around for a long time. It has a rhythm about it. B B King played the blues. King of the blues they called him, and still do.

Miles Cope is singing the blues today, and not in a bad way either. He plays funky blues. I have enjoyed listening to the rhythms of the guitar and piano. Some of it slow, some of it just down right funky.

Prosperity Blues is a great song. It is talking about prosperity when blues leaves town. Everything start going his way. Great song. I wish the blues would just leave town for me.

Well at least I can enjoy the blue from Miles Cope. Hope you enjoy this Amie St. Music Wednesday.

Amie St. Music Wednesday

I have listened to this album about 5 times. Every time that I do I don’t quite get it because of interruptions or something. I even tried to listen to it last night while playing CoD4, and that didn’t go over really well.

As things go, I was compelled to listen. Mythica, has a great tone. I enjoyed just listening to them in the back ground of what ever I have been doing. Most of the time not even realizing that they were playing, just me being calm.

The flutes, piano, bagpipes, and many other instruments. I have to say that this is a very nice well rounded album. Just Kidding, has it all. Completely instrumental. It is simply wonderful.

I really need to mention that For Patrick really is what hooked me, and got me to get the album. Although, the rest of the album is enjoyable, For Patrick really needed to be noted.

I hope that you enjoy this weeks Amie St. Music Wednesday.

I can’t help but to do this. This is a band that I hear every year at Moondance. It has just amazed me that I know someone on Amie Street. I’m just shocked that I found them on Amie Street. I even used to know someone that was part of the band. Crazy right?

Well because Moondance is this weekend, I have to set them up on here. It just would not be right. By now you are wondering just who is this band. Well the band is Spiral Rhythm.

The song Grandmother sticks out in my head the most. That is just because you can hear it from any where at the camp site. That is not a bad thing. I also remember it being one of the first songs that I hear around meal time. Everyone sits on the side of the hill, and enjoys eveyones company. I’m normally eating with about 20 people that I have meet over the years.

Today though, I’m going to say give Come and Dance a listen. It is up tempo. It is sure to be enjoyed by anyone that loves drums as well.

One last thing to point out. The type of drums you hear playing in the music, well, they play until about 3am on Friday and Saturday night. There is nothing like going to bed to the sound of the beating drums.
