Work Reward

I have been working on my glass shop recently. I take a good bit of pride in doing things myself. I work hard both mentally and physically. Most of my mental work is done at the day job, while the physical work is done at the house. This time just focusing on my glass shop.

As I have written about getting my bench in place in the shop. I wanted to share a picture with you on it. Now it is not the best looking bench in the world, but it was made from re-purposed pallets. I wish I had more uses for pallets.

This past Saturday, the 17th of July, I recycled an old picnic table that I had torn down about a month back. The picnic table had been beaten by limbs falling from a rotten tree. The picnic table was also soaked with water, as there is very little sun light that gets back in the trees.

I was thinking about moving the bottles of gas down to the shop. Then looking around I was wondering where I would set them. I thought about the wood, and placed some planks by the shop. It looked good, but was a little unstable. The I though that i would cut some 2 by 4′s up and use them to steady up the planks. This worked wonderfully. I also added a box to hold the propane bottle in place.

The fan that is sitting on the bench was installed last night. I do not have any pictures of it though. Why? well after spending the 2 to 3 hours cutting the hole, installing the fan, wiring it up. It didn’t work. At times things will just happen that way. You will work hard and what is supposed to be reward at the end of the day will turn to disappointment. Though the work itself was a reward, I’m still a little disappointed that I was unable to get the fan going in the shop so that I could start blowing glass again.
