#HR2306 – Ending Prohibition on Marijuana

Back in 1937 the US Federal Government made Marijuana illegal. It is hard to think of what life would be like with out these laws. I was born in 1979 and the “War on Drugs” had already been declared by Nixon. So I really have no idea what life was like before police started busting in doors and shooting people.

I do know that the “War on Drugs” has cost this country billions of dollars. I’m not talking about just in federal spending, I’m talking about jails, prisons, police training, K-9 units, border patrol, & countless number of deaths. The US Federal Government has been in the business of funding and causing some of the largest drug cartels and organized crime. Everyone knows that prohibition doesn’t work.

I have done post like this before and I feel that the country as a whole would benefit from the legalization of Marijuana. Marijuana is not only good for medical reasons, but the hemp plant can be used for so many textiles. It is also a renewal energy source as it grows in about 6 months, and I would think places like CA, FL, & TX would be able to grow it year round with the warm weather.

It is time to tell the truth to the people of the US. Stop lying about all of the dangers that just are not true. I love my personal freedom and personal responsibility. I feel that those that want to keep prohibition would have been taken out by natural selection for their co-dependence on the government.

Please help free Citizens of the US and Citizens of other nations around the world. Ending marijuana prohibition here in the states will truly make an entire world of difference. The US has so much influence on other countries in regard to this issue. We, as a nation, don’t trade with some countries that want to make Marijuana legal. Now is the time to help out the Citizens of the US and the rest of the world.

HR2306 needs to be passed. I personally do not use marijuana, but I believe it should be taken off the fereral prohibition list, and left up to the individual states. The real issue here is whether or not we want the federal government deciding for us what is good or not good for us. This is absolutely not what the founding fathers had in mind. Citizens have a basic right to decide for themselves what is good for them. As long as that decision does not interfere with the rights of other citizens, the federal government has no cause for action. This is clearly defined by the Constitution. Let’s take a lesson from Prohibition, and make an intelligent vote on this bill..

I do agree that marijuana shouldn’t be the issue here. The Federal Government should stay out of the lives of everyone. The Federal Government should only be making sure our rights are not taken away from us; not taking them away their selves.

I want to be involved i believe its going to take all of us to make a lot of noise and make them listen

Write your members of congress. This is what it will take. Many many letters. You have to let the members of congress know. Pressure has to come from the people.
