Sloth -1

The week started with me kicking some ass on some bushes and drainage that might be the cause to moisture in the basement. Still have not had enough rain to see if the moisture will come back again, yet. We will just have to see how that goes.

Monday was a good day. Knocked somethings out around the house that just needed to get done.

Tuesday I came home and played some video games. Didn’t really do much of anything else that I can recall. [sloth +1]

Wednesday I did the same as Tuesday. [sloth +3]

So I wanted to really get the sloth out of me big time. I needed something that would make me feel good and get some accomplishment back in the blood. I wanted, no, I needed a good start to the weekend. Yes, I know I’m at work right now and it is not really the weekend.

I have been working on the house and slacking so much that I have not put forth the effort in to my glass blowing hobby. This lack of effort was really starting to get to me. Here I sit, playing video games, when I could be outside glowing glass. Oh, wait! I don’t have anything setup to blog glass.

Tuesdays while I was playing video games, I thought to myself: “I can just work on the bench on Wednesday. It will be ok. I deserve a break.” This will really get someone that has had a lifetime of procrastination under his belt. Why? Wednesday came around and I did the exact same thing I did on Tuesday: “Oh I will get to that on Thursday. I just don’t feel like doing that right now.”

You can see the pattern that is starting to develop. I have been down this road several times. So I know what it looks like. I used to say: “Why do today what you can do tomorrow. Cause if tomorrow never comes, it doesn’t matter anyway.” Well let me be the first to tell you. Slothing, is not way to get things done. In fact, it is the opposite way to get things done.

Last night. I got the sloth out of me just a little bit more and got motivated.

[sloth -1]

I got my old bench put up in my new shop. It took some brain power to figure out just how to get it in there. It took a little more brain power to figure out how to get it in there with no help, that was a little tricky. I managed to get it done tough and I’m really happy with the results.

I wish that I didn’t have to put the old bench in there. The good thing is that it is put in with screws and when I get ready for a new bench, it should be easy enough to remove.

There is plenty more to do and maybe next time I will get an image up to should you all what it looks like. I might even come back and update this post with images at a later date.
