Another Update for my Entrecard
I think that I will let Entrecard run at least until the end of the year. I would like a little more data. Currently it is not looking good. I really do not like seeing the high bounce rates that are happening.
It is not that I’m not getting traffic, it is more that the traffic is worthless. I understand that number are not everything. Maybe I shouldn’t really care at all about it. Maybe I should just let it ride. That is why I’m letting it sit on the site until at least the first of the year.
When I look at site visitors and the bounce rate it doesn’t really work out. When 30 people hit your site and you have a 100% bounce rate it really sucks. More than likely it is 100% Entrecard traffic and people are not even looking at the sites that they are hitting. They want the points so that they can advertise on your site. While this is part of the reasoning for Entrecard, it is not my reasoning for having it on my site.
I would prefer that people land on the site because they are looking for information that I have posted about. Even though this is a personal blog, i would like to think that there is more value to the site than just another place to get a credit and move on.
I will really just have to see how I feel about it all by the end of the year. Until then, happy dropping.

Bounce rate is not everything. If you write daily one article and i visit you each day, i guess you know what will happen. I don’t have the need to read the other articles as i have read them already on my last visits.
This is one reason for a higher bounce rate but it’s not always bad. I would take a deeper look how long does your visitors stay on your website, there you can see if they take a look on your recent post or not.

I have met many wonderful people and read many great blogs because of Entrecard. Sometimes, I admit, I’m too busy to stop and read, but usually I do read the most recent post, and then look for more if I find it interesting. So, even if you don’t have time to “drop,” I would leave it up for a few months. Your blog is great, and more people will find it this way. Just my two cents worth. :)

Thanks for the kind words Sandra. I’m working on the idea of leaving it up. Like cornyman said, bounce rate is not everything.
I know I need to do more with the blog. maybe I will get some time and get google ads up or something. maybe that will help me think about what I’m doing more.
I recently signed up for Entrecard and I admit that the majority of the “droppers” seem to only be regurgitating advertisements as their content. I am always grateful to find other bloggers who drop on my site because it gives me an opportunity to see other blogs that I may not see otherwise.
