Organize It

I have a real need to organize my life, my Internet life.

A while back I killed my MySpace account. That is one less thing that I have to check. I don’t know how much it has really impacted my life. Let me see:

Checking MySpace took about 10 minutes at about once a week. So that is around 520 minutes. Which is about 12 hours a day.

So by dumping MySpace, I have gained about half a day out of my life each year. That is just if I checked it. What if there was a message or something else that someone thought that I should check out. then they would ask you about it later. So really I would say in a given year, I have gained about a week back out of my life. One full week.

As for the rest of the Internet life, it is still very dis-organized. I have about 4 or 5 different domains, all with email. Lets run those down – mouseclone.com, 19inchswide.com, atlanix.org, atlanix.net, stuckcog.com, amiest.musicwednesday.com. Ok, so there are more than 5 sites. One of them has nothing on it. So half are thoughts, and only 3 have something on them.

There is also my phone to consider. It has its own email address with Google. So I really need to get all of this together. It seems to be challenging to work with all of the accounts because I have to remember to check them all.

There are so many projects that I would like to get work done on. Atlanix.org has been on the back burner for a while. I just keep putting it off. We will see what next year or even the rest of this year holds for All of my projects.

When I figure out just what to do about all of the accounts and everything I will post back here. I think that I will end up using Google Services for the bulk of it all.
