Amie St. Music Wednesday on a Friday
I have been working pretty steady on ASMW lately, after almost giving up on the site a while back. I was really burning out on everything. I have gotten my feet planted back on the ground and started taking it easy with the site again.
Not feeling like I have to do anything with it, makes me want to do more with it. Thus I have started giving out account to artist that have been featured on ASMW. this has worked out well so far. A few artist have taken the time to post announcement about CD releases.
I often wonder why I even work on ASMW. I started it because I thought that it would be cool to have music from Amie Street on the website. Then thought that it would be cool to do it once a week on the blog and a few other started doing the same. Amie Street at the time had very little major labels on the site. It was full of indie artist, and it still is though it does have some major labels on it now.
The roots of Amie Street still hold good to this day. The MP3’s are still DRM free. The only major difference is that I can’t download the music more than once, which is a real bummer if I have a HD crash on me. I still only buy music on Amie Street. I wish they had some other artist on major labels but I also understand that contracts have to be signed and legal is always involved when there is money to be had.
With that being said, it doesn’t really matter to me, I’m going to continue my support for Amie Street, the artist on Amie Street (major label or not), and try to help out the artist when and where I can though this site or though ASMW. There is not many people that just refuse to by music or other media that is coded with DRM. I run Linux so it is a must that I say away from anything that will hinder me listening or watching it on that platform. It does limit me to what I’m able to do to some degree, but where this is information in DRM format there is also information that is out there not in DRM format.
So I’m going to leave you with an artist what was suggested to me on the Tuesday news letter from Amie Street. Get Busy Committee caught my eye because of a koala with an uzi in its hand, in fact the name of the album is Uzi Does It. I just thought that this was cool and I had to have a listen. Looks like Magic is a cool song, and has a great dance feel to it. So have a listen and enjoy this ASMW on a Friday.
