Ubuntu Upgrade Win
Yesterday I wrote about my upgrade from Ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10. Today I would like you all to know that the sound problem i had from the upgrade has been resolved.
This required the use of alsamixer. It would appear that the upgrade muted the line-in on my sound card. I don’t know why it would do that. it is possible that some sound cards, maybe in laptops, cause a feed back over the speakers or cause them to hum.
The lack of ability to do this from the GUI is not good, in fact is is just plain bad. I’m a systems administrator, and I work on computers all day long. I do not want to work on them at my house, I am still a user.
