Plastic Bottles!?

Technorati Tags: , ,

I don’t normally worry about the plastic bottles that I drink out of. I mean, why should I worry, they go though test to make sure that they are safe, right?

It would appear that heating plastics causes the chemicals in the plastics to seep into the food or liquid that you have heated up. This would include baby bottle, coke bottles, and other forms of plastics.

Now they say that the bottles that coke, and other products like water, come in are safe for a one time use. I know people that leave bottled water in their cars. Cars can get hot, does the heat of a car cause the bottle to break down slightly and would this cause an elevated amount of chemicals in your water?

Coke I have used for cleaning car battery terminals. Now we are putting this into our bodies, and we have been for several years now. It has not stopped me from drinking coke, even though it should. The other chemicals that are in the plastic could be eaten away by the coke as well, this might cause an elevated amount of chemicals in the drink, more so when left in the car, or in the drivers truck.

I’m not saying that this is fact but should be considered. With all of the things that are hidden from people about how healthy a product really is. The government hides enough because I firmly believe that someone is sliding money into their pockets to get a product pushed though with out proper testing. The FDA has also allowed many drugs to be mass produced without proper testing as well. What is to say that plastic bottles are not along the same lines. There is money at stake after all.

To wrap this up, I wanted to link to a website that enlightened me about this. Because I don’t really watch the news and I get information from other sources, it takes me a while to get informed. I try my best to wait until the smoke clears out and see what is left. So, Allways, Alli, gets the highlight for informing me about this in her post, Joining the BPA-free party. Thank you Alli.

Thanks so much for the nice words! I’m still missing my water bottle, but really, I want to err on the side of safe, not sorry.

Ow! Another thing I have to worry about. But you are right, the bottles sitting out in the hot car most of the day are probably seeping something. Plus, Coke out of glass tastes so much better.
