I do not like advertising as much as the next person. I really do not want to have have it shoved at me right when I get to a site. I don’t think that someone is going to just drop money in my lap to continue post and paying to keep the website up.
So why can’t I afford to keep the site going? That is easy, gas prices. Yes. I do not want to spare the money to pay for hosting when I can get it by other means and have the site pay for itself.
So, I have to forgive myself daily about advertising on the site. I don’t like it, even though sometimes it is the only way that I hear about new products.
Thank you for your understanding and I will continue to blast my opinion about different things on here.

You should check out http://www.stevepavlina.com — he has lots of controversial posts, but for the most part he is great on making money from your blog, but writing from your heart. From what he has found, people may complain about the occasional add (or 20) on your blog, but if they want to read your blog, the ads won’t stop them. On the other hand — IMHO — I don’t mind stationary ads, but when I visit sites with pop ups (and my pop up blocker is not on) I immediately leave the site. I think pop ups are rude…
