Xfire game tracker

Posted in Game Reviews on October 6th, 2008

Because I’m getting back into PC gaming and making use out of my Windows XP gaming console, I thought that I would drop a note here to mention something that I installed that came along with Sword of the New World, Xfire.

Things that piggy back on free games I don’t normally install. In fact, I was about 2 seconds from uninstalling this software after it was installed. I thought that I would give it a shot though. Xfire keeps track of the games you play and the amount of time that you play them.

This is good if you have ever wondered how much time you spend playing video games a week. I don’t much care but it will also let you know of what games your friends are playing. This is helpful if you want to play say Diablo with a friend and they are currently playing it. It will only keep track if you log in though.

So if you sign up for Xfire look me up. My user name is mouseclone.

Thoughts about Blizzard

After installing Warcraft 3, I started to think what it would have been like if Blizzard had taken a different turn. Blizzard Entertainment are the makers of 2 top RTS games: Warcraft and Starcraft. They also make the Diablo series as well.

But what if Blizzard decided that Starcraft would have been the MMORPG that World of Warcraft has turned out to be. Starcraft as an MMORPG would have been crazy. You would have the ability to play a Human, Protos, or Zerg.

Maybe you would even have to fly to different planets for quest. As Starcraft is about 3 races from different planets colliding together in an epic battle.

You know? It was just some thoughts. I just check Blizzard’s site out and Diablo 3 is going to be coming out. I can’t wait. I built a PC a while back and have yet to really push it. I have been playing Xbox so much. I really think that it is time to get back into PC gaming. It is far from being dead. There is something about a mouse and keyboard game that makes me want to build a gaming PC every time I build one.
