Desktop Real Estate

Posted in adverts on October 1st, 2008

Normally when I talk about desktop real estate, I’m referring to the resolution of a monitor and how big a monitor is. What I want to talk about to day is computer desks. The desktop that your computer sits on. This is the physical plane and not the digital plane.

So how much space do you like to have to set your keyboard, mouse, coke cans, ashtrays, and other things? I enjoy a lot. I prefer to have enough space to move around in and clutter up. Which becomes annoying and I have to clean it up. I think that I would clean up much more often if I had less space.

Right now I have a corner glass-top desk. My wife’s desk next to mine, which really extends the right side of my desk. She keeps her area clean and claims the rest of it as mine. I don’t use the printer, so really that should be her area as well, but I stack crap on it also. So it must be mine.

Debate about the 700 Billion

Posted in Personal on October 1st, 2008

I have been debating with Kevin about the 700 billion that the government is trying to get pushed though to help the banks out. Head over there and take a look if you wish.

My personal opinion is that the people and companies shouldn’t depend on the government to bail them out. We need to be government independent and not government dependent. People and Companies need to learn to stand on their own feet when it comes to their finances and future.

This will be a hard lesson learned if it doesn’t go though. Myself included will take a big hit. I don’t have stocks, but with out money in the market, people will not spend money. Without that money, it will cost a lot of jobs.

I have a Questions though. Should such a lesson come at such a great expense? Should the government bail companies and the people out when they are both at fault? You decide. This country will recover either way. Will we be stronger because of it?

Amie St. Music Wednesday

Well it is Wednesday, and it is time for another Amie St. Music Wednesday. This we are are taking you back a few years. Okay, it is several years.

I have been a fan of The Donnans for a while. I have yet to look them up on Amie Street. Well today I did just that. I looked them up and found the album “The Early Years”. Well, the early years bring back many memories of the 80’s. I don’t even remember if I listened to them back then or not. I’m going to guess not, because I was 1-11 years old back in those days. I know now some of yall feel old.

The Donnas are just great American, rocken chicks. They have the attitude to prove it as well. The Donnas, like most bands, they are best live. I saw them a few years back at the 99x Sinners Ball. That show was a blast. My wife made it to the front stage in about 30 seconds after they started playing. It was great.

So click the play button and enjoy some of their early tunes. Maybe they will take some time to get some of the newer stuff up on Amie Street.

There is no better time to sign up for Amie Street then now. It is free and you can enjoy some of your favorite Amie Street artist anytime you wish. Click here for the registration page and enter in ASMW for the promo code.
