Desktop Real Estate
Posted in adverts on October 1st, 2008Normally when I talk about desktop real estate, I’m referring to the resolution of a monitor and how big a monitor is. What I want to talk about to day is computer desks. The desktop that your computer sits on. This is the physical plane and not the digital plane.
So how much space do you like to have to set your keyboard, mouse, coke cans, ashtrays, and other things? I enjoy a lot. I prefer to have enough space to move around in and clutter up. Which becomes annoying and I have to clean it up. I think that I would clean up much more often if I had less space.
Right now I have a corner glass-top desk. My wife’s desk next to mine, which really extends the right side of my desk. She keeps her area clean and claims the rest of it as mine. I don’t use the printer, so really that should be her area as well, but I stack crap on it also. So it must be mine.
