Another one bites the dust

Man, these weeks just start flying by faster and faster. How to slow down time? A quest that has never been achieved.

The phrases “time is on your side” and time is against us” never made much sense to me. Time is neither on your side, or against you, it just is.

I feel that time, or the keeping track of time, was invented to calculate different things. When to plant crops, when to harvest them, and so on. Today time is used as a life controller.

You have to be on time for this and that. AT 7:30 work starts. At 5:30 work ends. You have to be at a location during those times. It is forced on you. Those hours of the day do not belong to you, those hours belong to your boss. If you need more hours in the day, you hire someone to do your work for you, this is called “buying time”.

People “buy time” a lot. Every time you pay someone to do work for you, you have paid for someones life for that period of time. They are your, for lack of a better term, slaves for that period. They have to make money to pay for food, shelter, and water. Every thing cost something today, so instead of paying up front cost for someone for the rest of their life, you pay them over time.

Time is something that you will never get back. Once the moment has past, it is gone. Time travel would not get it back. Just because you can travel back in time, doesn’t mean that your clock has traveled backwards as well. You will never get the ability to do anything over.

If there is one thing that an employer could give its workers, that would be more time. More time with the same pay. The U.S. has become a place of Over worked, and under paid people, as that saying goes. People tend to spend about half of their day finding a way to not work and the other half doing real work to keep their jobs. If you are hourly you might even stretch it out more, so that you get over time.

If you had a set task, and was paid for that task accordingly. Would you take as long as possible for the same pay? Would you do the job faster, so you are done sooner, for the same pay? Most people would do the job faster, get the pay, and it would leave more time for them to do what they wanted, instead of what other people want them to do. What are you thoughts?
