Amie St. Music Wednesday

This week’s installment of Amie Street Music Wednesday is brought to you by Memo.

Memo is from the United Kingdom. Their music style is Indie rock and Acoustic. I have enjoyed listening to the entire album. The band reminds me of News Boys, just political.

I have had trouble pin-pointing one song that I really enjoy. Heads on Sticks is great though.

I’m really with out words to describe this band. I enjoy the music. It is moving. It just jams. That might be the best that I’m able to do. That sucks.

So you be the judge. I have enjoyed them, even if I don’t know how to describe them. Enjoy the Amie Street Music Wednesday, and remember listen to music responsibly. Don’t vibrate the car next to you.

Why can’t people just make coffee

Posted in Personal on June 25th, 2008

I work in an office currently where people just can’t seem to make coffee. I have gone in to the kitchen 3 times today to find both pots of coffee empty or not enough for 1 cup. I don’t understand this.

Coffee is ready to be made at all times. It takes about 1 min to get coffee started for the next pot. People just do not seem to give a shit about it though. It was there when they needed it, and don’t seem to think that they took the last bit of coffee. It is crazy

I’m tired of this shit. I just want to back my toys up and go home. I have to work here until LabRat Networks gets off the ground. Then I will be working from home and in charge of my own damn coffee. Lazy people with not interfere with my caffeine fix.

Rant off.

It is all in the name

Posted in Personal on June 23rd, 2008

People say that “It is all in the name”. You are supposed to name companies based on what they will be doing. There are a few that come to mind that do no such thing. Google, Ebay, and Amazon to name a few.

A google is 1 with 1 million 0s behind it. Google, is a search engine though. If you sit down and thing about it, that could be search results. A google is a number, while Google is a search engine.

Ebay, I don’t even know what an Ebay is. Ebay, maybe for electronic bay. Bay is a small gulf. Ebay is an auction house and ecommerce store front.

Amazon is another company that sells items online. The Amazon is a rain forest and has nothing to do with selling book and other things online.

With this in mind. I have choose LabRat Networks as the name of my consulting company. I’m really hoping that “rat” will not make people think twice about it. There are all kinds of lab rats though. Everyone is a lab rat of life. Lab rat here is referring to geeks. Computer labs, computer geeks, or just lab rats.

What are your thoughts about LabRat Networks. Would you hire a company with that name to come and do computer work for your company? Please let me know your thoughts.

Stretching it to the Max

Posted in Personal on June 20th, 2008

You know with the rise in gas pricing it is hard to get out with friends and family. If you are not careful, you could stretch yourself money thin. This is not something that you really want to do.

Something that I thought about today, and I have talked it over with the wife and she is ok with it. We are just going to do one event a weekend. First come first serve more than likely. I know I have a camping trip again to Cheaha in a few weeks, so I will have to reserve time for that.

What brought this was that we had plans this weekend to hang out with some friends from Moondance that we do not normally get to hang out with. Although they are moving closer now. We planned earlier this week to hang out at a hookah bar, it turns out that we will just hang out at their house. Well another friend of mine, yall know him as Kevin, got back from the beach and wanted us to go and have dinner with him. Because plans were already made with other friends we thought about doing it on Sunday.

Neither of us, me or Kevin, really care to stress ourselves out on money. You may have the gas, but not the money for food. If you do, you may not have it later on in the week when you need it. Bills still have to be paid. So we agreed to try again next weekend. So right now, if nothing pops up, we will hang out with Kevin, wife, and child next weekend.

I feel that just doing one event a weekend will save us money over all and still allow us to do things. You can’t over do things, but we do not want to just sit home and do nothing. You still have to enjoy life as much as you can.

What are somethings that you have done to cut back so that you can pay the rising gas bill?

Amie St. Music Wednesday

There are times when you have the blues. There are times when others are blue. There are times when you just need to hear the blues. Blues has been around for a long time. It has a rhythm about it. B B King played the blues. King of the blues they called him, and still do.

Miles Cope is singing the blues today, and not in a bad way either. He plays funky blues. I have enjoyed listening to the rhythms of the guitar and piano. Some of it slow, some of it just down right funky.

Prosperity Blues is a great song. It is talking about prosperity when blues leaves town. Everything start going his way. Great song. I wish the blues would just leave town for me.

Well at least I can enjoy the blue from Miles Cope. Hope you enjoy this Amie St. Music Wednesday.
