It is extremely easy to get used to being in the woods. Camping brings out new life in people I think. So much, that it took me about 30 minutes to get used to camping. It has taken me about a week to get used to the everyday grind of life.

I used to enjoy MMORPGs. Grinding out experience points to level my character, I had no problems with. It seems though that I just wish to retreat when it comes down to the daily grind. You don’t get more experience, you just get more experienced.

What I mean is, in a game, you can go out and kill a mob several times. You gain experience, and you have become experienced at killing that mob. That task becomes easier and easier. You can then move on to the next mob with the knowledge that you have gained from the previous.

This however doesn’t apply to the real world. Lets say that you run into someone and you have an issue with this person. You are able to resolve it. The next person you run into and have an issue with, nothing will seem to work. You have to relearn everything that you knew about people.

In ways it is like a game when it comes to progressing though the game. Bosses will always be different and will challenge you in different ways, the same as people. A boss mob in a game, however, will never change, people do. Someone will become a pain during the day or just get stupid on you.

People change and you are not always able to fend off your attackers nor overcome your or someone’s problems. Getting back to life from camping and Moondance, you really have to look inward and outward. Is all of this really worth the effort that you seem to have to put into it?

Sure we live longer, stressful, drugged up lives now. Just the basics is really all we truly need. It is just simple living, and it is great. The flip side to that is where we are as a human race now, we will never be able to go back to the simpler life, just because is seems harder, and tougher. Not that it really is.

After my reality check, I try to remember what is so great about getting away from it all, and enjoy the air conditioning.
