Making Money with a Blog

Posted in Personal on March 4th, 2008

I looking for some ideas. I have gotten rid of the PayPerPost advertising. I don’t think that I’m going to go back to any type of service like that. I have the small advertisings over on the left hand side, though I’m not quite sure how those are working. I would say not at all. I notice that they get clicked, but it doesn’t seem as though people sign up, and that is how I get paid with what is there right now.

I have looked into several different forms of advertising on blogs. I wasn’t really sure that I wanted advertising on my blog when I started. The problem that I have now is it has been paying for my hosting for the past year. I have enough money in the PayPal account to hold me over for one more quarter.

I’m looking for ideas to make just enough money to cover the cost of hosting. I don’t know how well Google Ads would take on Mouseclone, I mean I don’t know if I could generate income from Google to sustain the site.

If you have any ideas or would like to advertise here, please drop me a comment. You can also send an email to mark [at] mouseclone [dot] com. You will need to enter the subject “Mouseclone Advert” so that you will not get caught by the spam filter. I’m really just looking for ideas. Ideas I can try out.

Life Update

Posted in Personal on March 4th, 2008

Well I have been really busy lately. this past weekend I was thinking that I wouldn’t have to work on anything other than what I wanted to. This was not the case, and yet it still was the case.

I was called on Friday night by someone that I had meet about 4.5 years ago. I meet him at Microcenter and he was having trouble with his computer. they told him that he needed a hard drive replacement. Well he figured that he would loose all of his data. i was able to recover most if not all of the data from the old hard drive.

Anyway, he called me up on Friday night and need some more help with something else. It had to do with dual monitor support for a laptop. I got the laptop screen back by walking him though different things over the phone. I also got his network going over the phone as well. He needed some other things so I told him that I would come over on Saturday to get it fixed up.

So as you can see my weekend of not really doing much turned out that I had to do a chunk. I didn’t mind it. It was extra money, and we can all use a little extra money. I don’t know why I just don’t do consultant work. It is more than likely because I’m not sure that I would have the hours needed to live and make sure that food was on the table.

Aside for working this weekend, we found a home for Orie. A nice lady came over to the house and was looking for pit mix. Orie jumped up in her lap and licked her to death. Now we have a dead body in our house and we are not quite sure how to explain it to the cops. Joking. Really. She decided to give Orie a home and off they went.

I mentioned to the wifey about we have gone from fostering humans to fostering animals. I will tell you one thing, Breakfast is much happier now that Orie is gone. We love our cat very much, so it looks like it will be a while before we really get a dog. I think that Breakfast will have to die before that happens again.

As for Monday, busy as usual. PureWeb knocking at my door as well as getting crazy stuff done around the office. Office comes first so PureWeb had to wait until I got home to get things worked out. It is Tuesday now and the day is just getting started. I have tons of email to import and recover for a user, and 8 computers to get ready for the training center. Busy busy busy, but time will stop for no one and companies will always push to have what they need done, and I will be here, while I last, to take the shit that comes with working in IT and get-er-done.
