Writing yourself in is just as pointless as not voting. ANY VOTE not for the leading opposition is a vote for the leader in the other party, no matter if you vote Libertarian, Green Party or what. Look at what happened to Bush1 in 94. He lost the vote because the conservative vote was split between him and perot.

The best way to ensure that clinton is not elected is to a) vote for a different democrat in the primary (georgia is cool because you can vote in either party's primary. despite the fact that I'm a registered republican, I vote in the democratic primary for the underdog) and back the leading opposition candidate in the general election.

By the way, have you checked out Huckabee??

Again just because it is not offered at present time doesn't mean that it wasn't offered in a previous time and taken away by a ruling power. More than likely it was taken away because a ruling power didn't like what someone said, they just passed a law that said that no one can peak their mind about the King or Queen, they are not to question. That doesn't mean they it is not a birth right, it just means that the government doesn't allow you to act on that right.

Fair enough point that "took a right away from the government, not granted it to the people, because it already belonged to the people.". I can agree with you in that context. But that lack of government right is not offered everywhere in the world. Not everywhere are you protected for speaking an opinion.

@ Kevin

You wait one damn minute. Just because you are born a slave doesn't mean that your birth right, or basic freedom should not be granted to you. Speaking an opinion is one thing, causing someone harm with your words is quite another. you have to draw that line. Will what I say be an opinion, or will it cause harm.

If a called a black man a nigger, then that is wrong. If I spoken an opinion about how I think that they should still be slaves that is quite another. I don't think that they should be in-slaved. Back to the topic. Just because you get a reaction to what you say that you do not like, ie getting your ass kicked, doesn't mean that you shouldn't have that right, to voice your opinion.

People are so sensitive today. Please don't say that the Irish are alcoholics, and please make sure you call the black man in America African-American, even though he has never been to Africa.

Do you understand that much. It doesn't matter the persecution that you would face for executing that right. That doesn't make it any less of a right. Our for fathers didn't grant us a right to speak, they made it to where the government can't cut your tongue out for speaking your mind. They took a right away from the government, not granted it to the people, because it already belonged to the people.

I am only going to touch on one part of this just to be clear on my opinion. I feel you are granted the right to freedom of speech, but not by your government. It was granted to you by you peers, which was made up of common men. Our better put, made up of our fathers, fathers. If you think for even 1 second that your right to free speech was a birth right, then I would suggest you test that right. Next time you drive through a bad part of town, start saying off the wall shit. Is your freedom a birth right then? When you can be killed in this world for saying anything agnist someone god, is it your birth right then? I think the freedom of speech is the most taken for granted right that our leaders made up of farmers gave us. With that right you can go anywhere in the country and say anything you want to anyone, and nothing can be done to you by your government. That right isn't offered everywhere, or by everyone. So before you say it was a birth right think about what would happen if you tried to use that right in the wrong place at the wrong time. I hear it hurts to have your tounge cut out for mocking Allah in Iran.
