What a weekend

This weekend I attended a part at a co-workers house. I drank way more than I should have and I paid the price. What price? Well I got sick and the wife got mad. It was stupid of me to think that I might be able to drink as much as i could when I was younger. I never believed it when people said that they just couldn’t do it any more.

I’m here to tell you all that if you stop for any period of time you will never be able to start back again. What do I mean? It would take a long time before I will be able to drink as much as I was able to at 21 or even 22. I have just really stopped drinking over the past couple of years. A beer at dinner is fine, but a 5th of rum is not fine.

A word to the wise, if you want to hurt for the next few days from puking be my guest and drink like you used to. I should have known better. I really should have. I was standing tall until the car ride home and then the sickness got me. I’m not sure if it was the motion of the car or what. I just had to much to drink.

All in all I had a great time at the party. I got to spend some time with people that I have not seen in a while because they went to other jobs, but they were at the party. I will know next time that I can’t handle that much any more.

Even talking with someone at work today that wasn’t at the party decided this weekend that him and a friend would drink like they used to and ended up in saying the same thing. It is a shame that the body can’t take it like it used to, but if you stop abusing the body it looses the ability to be abused.

Oh and yes, we had a DD, my wife. She is a great woman. She still puts up with me.

I remember as a child, my mother got so pissed off one winter night when dad went out drinking with his buddies then drove home, that she left him in the running van until morning. The van ran out of gas, dad had frozen barf from head to toe, and mom had totally made her point. Nothing like a lap full of frozen vomit to remind you not to D & D.

    Debo: Heart breaking ain’t it?

Karen: We had a DD that was the good thing. I have had my ass chewed out before by my best friends wife and mine for D&D, I don’t think that I will be doing that again.
