Making deals with the Devil
Technorati Tags: apartment, Legends at Dunwoody, liarers, money loss, rent, Worthing CompanyIt appears to me that people just are not trust worthy. My apartment complex, Legends at Dunwoody (formally Dunwoody Club), well the manager really, has gone back on their word. His name is Henry. I hope he gets fired. So here is my story.
I had a car that was going to be towed. I called and called to talk to the manager about it. I finally got a hold of him and spoke with him about giving me some time to get it out. He said that it was fine, and that I would use the small fenced in lot for storage while I worked on it. The same day I had my brother ready to come over and they had towed the car. I was pissed.
I talked to Henry again, and sometimes I would have to relay message though Gail, an assistant, about the issue. Henry agreed that he would take it off of the next months rent. I explained to him that I was not able to get it out of the tow yard because I didn’t have the money right then.
After several message later for him to call me back he does, a few days have gone by now. I talked with him again and he agrees to pay $360 to get the car towed back the the complex. So I take rent money to do this. Why? Because it is going to be taken off of the rent anyway so why not, right?
After getting the car towed back and handing Henry the bill, I go on with planning the move with the money that is left over. I have to pay for a new apartment, and I have to put down deposits and other such things that come with getting a new place.
Now that I have done all of this, my wife goes to pay the rent and they tell her that they will only take $125 off of the rent. I’m pissed. Henry has lied to me and I don’t much care for it. I call the corporate office in hopes to get some resolve from this and tell them the story. I was told that I would receive a phone call back from the regional manager by the end of the week. I received a phone call this morning from Henry, after leaving 2 messages the day before, stating that he received an email from corporate that he is not allowed to do it. So not only did Henry go back on his word, corporate will not do anything about it.
Now I’m stuck with out having the money to pay my current rent, and not having the money to pay for the new place. What bothers me more than anything about it is that someone was not true to their word. I was at fault for working on my car in the complex, as the lease agreement states. They had the right to tow it. I am really mad because i was lied to in the end.
As for Legends at Dunwoody and the management company The Worthing Company Communities, I will never rent or lease from them again. I can’t stand people that lie to me, and more so I can’t stand that I was led to believe that they would stat true to their word. Now I have to find a place to shit our $360 in less than 5 days.
