On to the New Year

Posted in Personal on December 31st, 2007

I feel really bad that I have not been posting as much lately. I have just been really busy with all of the holiday stuff to do around the house. I have also had a time with getting my wife’s computer to Linux. Not that Linux was a pain in the but, it just wouldn’t install on the hard drives that I was trying to use because they had bad sectors from heat damage. Slapped in a drive I found in my computer that was not being used and BAM! Linux installed really easy.

I finally got the Christmas Tree out of the house and drug down the hill. I don’t feel the need to take it to a recycling center because our apartments are in a wooded area and the tree can just as well decompose at the bottom of the hill. There is really zero harm in returning a tree back from where it came. I’m sure the bugs will enjoy eating at it for a while. Could even make some spiders happy, those that choose to build a web on it.

Speaking of the New Year I have a party to go to tonight. It is being held at my wife’s dad’s house. It is going to be a “Remembering Your Childhood” party. We are all dressing up in PJs and going to play childhood games like Candy Land, Shoots and Ladders, and Don’t Break the Ice. I think that it will be a good time. Besides we will have adult drinks as well. So I don’t know if playing Don’t Break the Ice drunk will help the skill level in anyway at all.

This will be my last post in 2007. I hope that you all have had a great time reading my blog this past year. It really has taken off very well. please come back and visit in the the New Year 2008.

Amie Street Wednesday #17

Posted in Amie Street Music Wednesday on December 26th, 2007

This is the last ASMW before the new year. I have had a great time running this music meme. I have also gathered a good collection of music from other ASMW meme-ers as well. Today I will bring you party music for the New Year. We all need something that we can get down to.

Psionic Circus should be rocking out the raves this New Years Eve. Anyone with circus in the name you know is crazy. Highest Party has a great sound to it as well. All of the tracks are a much listen to and are needed for anything new that you wish to bring to your New Years Eve party. Sit down and turn on the strobe light and don’t get lost.

Christmas is over! Lets take a look at the loot!

Posted in Personal on December 26th, 2007

Okay, now that Christmas is over you have to sit around and take a look at some of your loot.

I received the games BioShock and Skate for the Xbox 360. I also received Some PJs for the New Years party, a few gift cards, and a pair of shoes. Also with some of the cash that I got for Christmas I got Call of Duty 4, just had to.

I know that I should have paid my future sister-in-law back for the doctor visit she paid for my wife, but I see this as a little extra money. It is more than likely wrong of me to look at it that way. The plan is to pay her back shortly with the income that I have made from writing paid blog post. I hope that my she and my bro will forgive me.

So that is my loot for Christmas that I know about so far. Maybe I will get more maybe I will not but I’m not overly concerned about it. I didn’t really expect to get as much as I got. I would like to thank everyone this past year for making it a great year for Mouse Clone. I know that this site is a bore and you just read it to see if something great happens and it normally doesn’t. I have noticed that some people read it for the humor of it all. No matter why you read it, Thanks.

I just had to share this

Yes I know it is another video but this one is cute. I know I’m a guy and I used the cute word. You just have to watch this video just to see how funny it is. Short sweet and to the point.

4 more days until the Nightmare is over.

The History of Christmas

Posted in Personal on December 20th, 2007

You know, Christmas has be around for a very long time. It has been celebrated by humans long before the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas used to and still is held as a time of celebration in the Pagan culture as Winter Solstice. The Norse would burn large logs during Yule Time, this would last about 12 days, and people would feast.

As you can see Christmas is not about giving and getting gifts. It really is about extremely old traditions that were celebrated long ago. From the Winter Solstice to the Yule Log to the feast of Adam and Eve (Dec 24), Christmas is a time of gathering of families and being thankful that the shortest days are passing us. With the passing of Christmas, there is hope for new birth, and growth of every living thing.

So take some time out with your family this year. Celebrate a tradition that is older than anyone alive today. Gather some friends and family around a Yule Log and enjoy the warmth. Make it a great time and try your best not to get caught up in all of the fighting with gift giving.
