Tick-tock tick-tock
Posted in Personal on September 5th, 2007I hate time. It is something that gets me in trouble with other people. I think that time was invented for man to control other men. Although I must live by it when I am at home and have to work day to day.
I will escape time once or twice a year when I go camping. I hurry out to the camp site, time to relax. Set up camp, toss the cell phone in the car (the only watch i have), and let the days roll by. I count 3 or 4 moons and then I know it is time to pack up and head back to the open cage.
I think that things are less stressful when you don’t have time with it’s thumb on you. A good example would be when I go down to my dad’s house. I work, but it is not, get it all done today. It is more, lets get to work, do what we can, and when we get tired? Well, we will just have a sit down on the porch and drink a glass of sweet ice tea and talk about the weather.
Americans are way over worked. I leave my house at 15 ’til 7, and I don’t normally get home until 7 that night. It is a stress to fight traffic, fix everything at work, and fight traffic home to spend as much time with my wife that I can. I am just really tired of it and I have 37 more years before I can think about calling it quits.
Time! I hate you and the way that people control me with you. I digress. This post was inspired by Meditations on Meaning
