relevantNoise - the blog spies
relecantNoise is a blog spier. Whoa!? Yeah, they creep around on your blogs pulling the content down and seeing if you said something about someone else.
Lets say that Wal-mart sucks. In my personal opinion they do. Wal-mart has gone down hill from the times of Sam Walton. His children have made a money house that offers no consumer service. It doesn’t even open enough registers for people to check out. Why in the world would you have 30+ register locations to check out and only have 7 open?
Ok, the above will be spidered by relevantNoise and put somewhere for a Wal-mart exec or something like that to see. I wrote this because I don’t like what they are doing. Heck, I would go as far to say that people have been sued over some of the things that relevantNoise has found. None the less they are providing a service that would other wise take a good size IT department and server to do what they are doing. Hell, everyone likes to make money stepping on other people as well. American Dreams they call it.
relecantNoise might just be Big Brother disguised as a company and they are really looking to see if someone says something about the US Government. The US Government is not very competent in my opinion. Hell, just look at the war!

OUCH!! We’re real people at relevantNOISE, I swear — we’re not “the man” or anything!!!! And we’re not spies, either.
What we’re doing is not much different than what marketing and PR execs do on their own using tools like Google Alerts and Technorati. We’re just making it easier for those execs to track what’s being said from a much higher level. But we’re not sneaking into peoples blogs to pull data - the posts we look at have all been published and syndicated.
And not only do we *not* work for the government (we’re all about free speech!), we don’t work for Wal-Mart either. Maybe they would have done a little better with their blog strategy if we HAD worked for them!

It looks like it’s being marketed to large companies and maybe to political campaigners…
As a blogger, it’s nice to know that your thoughts on the subject of a place or person are being read and noticed, but I think that Mark gets the feeling that it’s being ferreted out, pre-digested, and formatted to immediately be used against the bloggers.
as long as the companies who are using relevantNoise are using the information as a PR tool, something to use to take the temperature of the Average Joe toward their trademark or service, that’s legitimate.
If company X started an ad campaign using pop-ups and loud colors, and found that, though sales were up, bloggers were booing the pop-ups, and complaining about the loud colors, would it make the company want to change tactics?
Does this mean that I should start blogging about places I shop and products I use, making suggestions to improve them?

Didn’t mean to slander your company or anything. I just don’t like Big Corp America. They run the government and everyone knows it.
I care what people think about thing. Even more so when I crawl under Big Brothers skin. There is data mining all the time over the internet. You are right by providing a tool that will help companies *fix* what is wrong with them. Like Wal-mart only allowing workers 31.5 hours each week so they don’t have to pay benefits.
You could use that as a slogan though - relecantNOISE “We spy on the internet for Gossip about your company and spoon feed it to you.” That is a little harsh put but politically correct I’m not really all that good at.
Really I think what you are doing is great. IF it really help cooperations work out problems and give better consumer service. You never hear anything good about companies though. People always talk about the bad.
Another slogan you could use is - revelantNOISE “We get the gossip on the net to help you manage your business better and work the kinks out of your employees” That is a little less harsh. I think that it is good and simple minded. Not a lot of BIG words.
Tell you what I will do. To better help promote your business and for giving a response to the article I will list revelantNOISE in my blog roll so that others will be able to get to it better after this article drop form the last five post.
I hope you do not think this post is harsh it is not meant to be. Again, I will even help promote revelantNOISE so that you all will be able to help companies out more and maybe get more business.
